Bascom Bridge’s Introduction to SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services (SSRS) training teaches attendees how to create both basic and advanced reports from scratch using Report Designer. Participants master populating and formatting their reports, then successfully deploying them for desktop and mobile consumption.

 

SSRS TRAINING OBJECTIVES

All students will:

  • Use Report Designer and Mobile Report Publisher
  • Work with solutions and projects

SSRS TRAINING PREREQUISITES

Students should have a general familiarity with database concepts and a working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft Office applications.

SSRS TRAINING MATERIALS

All attendees receive a copy of SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services for Report Writers.

SOFTWARE NEEDED FOR EACH PC:

  • At least 8 GB RAM
  • At least 10 GB free disk space
  • 64-bit Windows 7 or later, or Windows Server 2012 or later, with the latest service pack updates.
  • A full installation of SQL Server 2016 (server and client tools), including Reporting Services, with the latest service packs applied
    • Use SQL Server Developer Edition on Windows 7 or 8, or Enterprise Edition on Windows Server operating systems
    • This class is written to support a SQL Server Native Mode environment. Customization will be required to run Reporting Services in SharePoint integrated mode.
  • SSDT for Visual Studio 2015
  • Related sample databases and lab files that Accelebrate will provide
  • Internet Explorer version 8, 9, or 11 (not 10, which has serious problems interacting with SSRS)
  • Excel (any version 2007 or later with the latest service packs) and Adobe Reader (any version)
  • If you have purchased this course, please contact us for detailed setup instructions.
  • For classes delivered online, all participants need either dual monitors or a separate device logged into the online session so that they can do their work on one screen and watch the instructor on the other. A separate computer connected to a projector or large screen TV would be another way for students to see the instructor’s screen simultaneously with working on their own.
