Advanced Oracle 12c for Administrators

Advanced Oracle 12c for Administrators

Bascom Bridge’s Advanced Oracle 12c for Administrators training teaches students how to handle challenges that require more than just a basic understanding of database administration. Attendees learn advanced administration, security, and storage techniques, as well as heat map tracking, data redaction, and more.

Students will learn how to:

  • Set metric and alert thresholds
  • Use globalization features within the database
  • Work with database connection and session options
  • Manage automatic databases
  • Automatically resume database operations after failures and errors
  • Protect data-at-rest in the database using Transparent Data Encryption
  • Protect data en route with Oracle Net Services encryption
  • Use advanced compression techniques for tables and indexes
  • Understand columnar vs. row-oriented database storage
  • Use heat map tracking for areas of the database that could be targeted for optimization
  • Manage ILM data
  • Optimize automatic data and policies
  • Implement custom ILM storage management policies
  • Use in-memory storage of database objects
  • Archive inactive data
  • Introduce temporal validity into a table
  • Redact data

Students should have taken Bascom Bridge’s  Oracle 12c for Administrators training or have equivalent experience.

All students receive comprehensive courseware and a related textbook.

  • Intel dual core i5 or faster processor on a 64-bit operating system with at least 4 GB RAM
  • A complete installation of Oracle 12c
  • Please contact us for detailed setup instructions if you have purchased this class
  • For classes delivered online, all participants need either dual monitors or a separate device logged into the online session so that they can do their work on one screen and watch the instructor on the other. A separate computer connected to a projector or large screen TV would be another way for students to see the instructor’s screen simultaneously with working on their own.
